La Casa Montecito

Welcome to a destination stay where luxury meets serenity. Our home was born from a dream to create a space that transcends the ordinary, offering an exclusive escape immersed in the beauty of nature.

Nestled inside the private stone walls of Riven Rock, this single-level home is on a lush acre, with a spectacular courtyard, pool, spa, pavilion, day beds, multiple decks & outdoor dining. Inside, the house is light and airy, with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, office, living room, kitchen & great room, with French doors and hardwood floors throughout.

The property is utterly magical, privately situated inside the gates of Riven Rock, a beautiful historic estate from the late 1800s. The pool, spa, fountains, and courtyard are at the front of the house, while the back of the house is a full acre with a native-grass lawn, two swing daybeds, a covered pavilion, multiple seating and dining areas, including a huge live-edge slab table seating 10-12, raised planter beds with vegetables & herbs, huge ancient oaks, palms, giant bird of paradise, etc. There also are three decks off the house, all overlooking the property, all with comfortable patio furniture & umbrellas, and on the kitchen/great room deck is a Big Green Egg barbecue. Stairs from this deck lead you down into the property.

The house itself is incredibly charming, light, and serene, with a long entry hall with chandeliers, high ceilings, and wood floors throughout.

The living room is lovely for socializing, with a huge antique wrought-iron chandelier, french doors opening onto the courtyard, pool and fountains, a wood-burning fireplace, an antique baby-grand piano, cozy seating, and a petrified wood coffee table. The office has massive antique solid wood doors for privacy and a separate entrance off the courtyard, with a modern desk, comfortable office chair, and a high-speed Eero mesh wi-fi network running throughout the house. The great room is wonderful and bright, with massive redwood beams, iron French doors, a gas fireplace by the antique dining table, a sectional couch, an ottoman & Samsung smart TV, a fun stash of games (full poker set, Cards Against Humanity, Exploding Kittens, Jenga, Uno, playing cards, chess set etc). The kitchen has a full coffee, espresso & tea bar, a 60" Viking stove with two ovens, Thermador fridge & freezer, dishwasher, granite counters, and 4 bar chairs. Fully stocked with Staub cast iron, Henckles skillets, cooking utensils, salt, pepper, a wide range of organic spices, olive oil etc, it's a great space to create and entertain in. The pantry is off the kitchen and leads into the laundry room, with a full-size Samsung washer and dryer.

The primary bedroom is lovely, with magical sunlight, a high wood-beamed ceiling, antique chandeliers, a private balcony deck overlooking the back property, a California king bed, and a marble bathroom en suite with two sinks and a walk-in shower. The secondary bedrooms are equally lovely, one overlooking the courtyard and pool, with a private entrance from the deck, a large closet, and a California king bed. The 3rd bedroom overlooks the back property, with a private entrance off the pool deck, a large closet, and a queen bed. These two bedrooms share a green marble bathroom with two sinks, and a shower/tub combination, which can also be accessed from the pool deck for a quick rinse after swimming or soaking in the hot tub.

The backyard is vast and private, with two swinging daybeds, a covered pavilion, a native grass lawn, a large hammock, many dining and seating options, and cornhole and petanque (French-style bocce) to enjoy.

There's an extraordinary array of fantastic options in both Montecito & Santa Barbara to experience - hiking trails are a short walk, with the Hot Springs trailhead less than a quarter mile away, and the Cold Springs trailhead a 2-minute drive. The Upper Village is a 3-minute drive, with a small grocery store, post office, banks, and great shopping and dining. Butterfly Beach & Miramar Beach are both a 5-minute drive, as is the Lower Village, with further excellent dining and shopping options. Lotusland is considered to be one of the top-10 botanical gardens in the world, and Casa del Herrero is a stunning example of Spanish Colonial architecture by George Washington Smith. Our local Montecito Farmer's Market is every Friday morning on Coast Village Road.

Whether you’re seeking a romantic retreat, a family getaway, or a peaceful escape, Casa Montecito invites you to unwind, reconnect, and immerse yourself in the beauty of Montecito living. Here, every stay becomes part of a story—one filled with relaxation, discovery, and cherished memories.
