What sort of activities are available in Montecito?

There's an extraordinary array of fantastic options in both Montecito & Santa Barbara to experience - hiking trails are a short walk, with the Hot Springs trailhead less than a quarter mile away, and the Cold Springs trailhead a 2-minute drive. The Upper Village is a 3-minute drive, with a small grocery store, post office, banks, and great shopping and dining. Butterfly Beach & Miramar Beach are both a 5-minute drive, as is the Lower Village, with further excellent dining and shopping options.
Lotusland is considered to be one of the top-10 botanical gardens in the world, and Casa del Herrero is a stunning example of Spanish Colonial architecture by George Washington Smith. Our local Montecito Farmer's Market is every Friday morning on Coast Village Road.
Santa Barbara is a spectacularly beautiful city, with nearly unlimited options to explore, ranging from whale-watching tours to diving the Channel Islands, downtown wine tasting, art galleries, excursions to our beautiful local wine country in Santa Ynes & Los Olivos, horseback beach rides, fantastic dining, great coffee shops, hiking the backcountry, performances at the open-air Santa Barbara Bowl, jazz, flamenco & comedy at the Lobero, Granada and Arlington theaters, high-handicap polo, superb golf, visiting the nearby towns of Summerland & Ojai, touring the Santa Barbara Mission & rose garden, kayaking the harbor and coastline, surfing, sailing, visiting the zoo, the iconic Courthouse, the Museum of Art, the Museum of Natural History, and on and on. The Downtown Farmer's Markets are on Thursday afternoons on lower State Street, and Saturday mornings on the intersection of Carrillo & State Street.
